ABSTRACT

Objective@#To explore the effectiveness of machine learning algorithms in predicting non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) behavior among college students, and to analyze the influencing factors of NSSI behavior, thus providing a reference for promoting psychological well-being.@*Methods@#In December 2022, a stratified random cluster sampling method was used to select 835 college students from a university in Guizhou Province, China. The Adolescent Self-injury Scale, Family Function Assessment Scale, and Emotion Regulation Self-efficacy Scale were used to evaluate the participants. Demographic characteristics, family factors, and emotional factors were taken as independent variables, while the dependent variable was whether college students exhibited NSSI behavior. Machine learning algorithms, including Logistic regression, support vector machine (SVM), decision trees, algorithm gradient boosting trees, random forests, and AdaBoost, were used to construct predictive models.@*Results@#The detection rate of NSSI behavior among the college students was 23.23% (194 individuals). The NSSI behavior group scored higher than the non-NSSI behavior group in total family function, emotional communication, egoism, and family rules ( t=3.02, 3.35 , 2.23,2.87, P <0.05). On the other hand, the non-NSSI behavior group scored higher than the NSSI behavior group in total emotion regulation selfefficacy, managing negative emotion self-efficacy, and expressing positive emotion self-efficacy ( t=-5.04, -5.48 , -2.43, P <0.05). The recall rates of random forests, SVM, Logistic regression, decision trees, algorithm gradient boosting trees, and AdaBoost were 84.3% , 90.6%, 73.4%, 87.5%, 95.3%, 89.0%, respectively. The F1 scores were 84.4%, 92.1%, 71.2 %, 79.4%, 91.7%, 89.1% , respectively. The respective precision rates were 84.4%, 93.5%, 69.1%, 72.7%, 88.4%, 89.1 %. The AUC scores were 0.845, 0.922, 0.706, 0.776, 0.915, and 0.891, respectively.@*Conclusion@#Compared to the algorithm gradient boosting tree, random forest, Logistic regression, and AdaBoost models, the SVM model has a better predictive effect on whether college students in Guizhou Province exhibits NSSI behavior. It is recommended to use an appropriate model to identify students at risk of NSSI behavior as early as possible and provide psychological crisis interventions to promote their mental health.

ABSTRACT

In skeletal system, the coupling effect between angiogenesis and osteogenesis can promote bone growth and maintain bone mass balance. Type H vessel is a special capillary subtype in bone with high expression of Endomucin (Emcn) and CD31. The essence of type H vessel is vascular endothelial cells, mainly distributed in the metaphysis, surrounded by bone progenitor cells, which mediates the coupling mechanism of angiogenesis and osteogenesis, involving a variety of cytokines and signaling pathways. Factors including platelet-derived growth factor type BB, slit guidance ligand 3, hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha, Notch, and vascular endothelial growth factor are involved in the coupling of angiogenesis and osteogenesis. Type H vessels transmit signals through a variety of cytokines to enhance the connection between angiogenesis and bone formation, thus regulating bone growth and bone homeostasis. In addition, this article discusses the research prospects of improving bone loss by using it as a target, so as to provide reference for clinical bone injury repair and anti-osteoporosis treatment.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND@#Hyperbaric oxygen treatment (HBOT) has been demonstrated to influence the keloid recurrence rate after surgery and to relieve keloid symptoms and other pathological processes in keloids. To explore the mechanism of the effect of HBOT on keloids, tumor immune gene expression and immune cell infiltration were studied in this work.@*METHODS@#From February 2021 to April 2021, HBOT was carried out on keloid patients four times before surgery. Keloid tissue samples were collected and divided into an HBOT group (keloid with HBOT before surgery [HK] group, n = 6) and a non-HBOT group (K group, n = 6). Tumor gene expression was analyzed with an Oncomine Immune Response Research Assay kit. Data were mined with R package. The differentially expressed genes between the groups were compared. Hub genes between the groups were determined and verified with Quantitative Real-time PCR. Immune cell infiltration was analyzed based on CIBERSORT deconvolution algorithm analysis of gene expression and verified with immunohistochemistry (IHC).@*RESULTS@#Inflammatory cell infiltration was reduced in the HK group. There were 178 upregulated genes and 217 downregulated genes. Ten hub genes were identified, including Integrin Subunit Alpha M (ITGAM), interleukin (IL)-4, IL-6, IL-2, Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Receptor Type C (PTPRC), CD86, transforming growth factor (TGF), CD80, CTLA4, and IL-10. CD80, ITGAM, IL-4, and PTPRC with significantly downregulated expression were identified. IL-10 and IL-2 were upregulated in the HK group but without a significant difference. Infiltration differences of CD8 lymphocyte T cells, CD4 lymphocyte T-activated memory cells, and dendritic resting cells were identified with gene CIBERSORT deconvolution algorithm analysis. Infiltration levels of CD4 lymphocyte T cell in the HK group were significantly higher than those of the K group in IHC verification.@*CONCLUSION@#HBOT affected tumor gene expression and immune cell infiltration in keloids. CD4 lymphocyte T cell, especially activated memory CD4+T, might be the key regulatory immune cell, and its related gene expression needs further study.

ABSTRACT

Background and Objectives@#Adipose-derived stem cell (ADSC) transplantation improves stem cell paracrine function and can enhance wound healing. However, in diabetic patients, glucose-associated effects on this function and cell survival lead to impaired wound closure, thereby limiting ADSC transplantation efficiency. The hypoxia-inducible factor HIF-1α has an important protective function during wound healing. Here, we aim to clarify the regulatory mechanism of ADSCs. @*Methods@#and Results: ADSCs were isolated from BALB/C mice adipose samples. We then used high-throughput se-quencing to assess abnormal expression of circular RNAs (circRNAs). We also used an in vivo full-thickness skin defect mouse model to assess the effects of transplanted ADSC on diabetic wound closure. Hypoxic pretreatment of ADSCs accelerated diabetic wound closure, which enhanced angiogenic growth factor expression in our mouse model. High-throughput sequencing and RT-qPCR indicated that circ-Gcap14 was upregulated in hypoxic pretreated ADSCs. Similarly, circ-Gcap14 downregulation also decreased the therapeutic effects of ADSCs; however, circ-Gcap14 overexpression increased the effects of ADSC by promoting angiopoiesis. We also used a luciferase reporter assay to confirm that miR-18a-5p and HIF-1α were downstream targets of circ-Gcap14. HIF-1α expression plays an important role in increased VEGF level. @*Conclusions@#Based on our data, we suggest that circ-Gcap14 plays an important role in accelerating hypoxic ADSC-mediated diabetic wound closure, by enhancing mouse angiogenic growth factor expression and regulating downstream miR-18a-5p/HIF-1α expression.

ABSTRACT

Depression is a mental or affective disorder, whose occurrence is closely related to the physical, psychological, and social environmental factors. Clinically, patients with depression often present with significant and long-lasting blue mood, impaired thinking and cognitive functions, reduced mobility, and even self-harm and suicide attempts. The pathogenesis of depression is complex and diverse, and there mainly exist the neurotransmitter hypothesis, immunodeficiency hypothesis, hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis activation hypothesis, brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) hypothesis, and intestinal flora hypothesis. In western medicine, it is mostly treated with antidepressant drugs, but the resulting side effects and repeated attack cannot be ignored. Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) has obvious advantages in dealing with depression. The advocates of treating "Qi", "phlegm", "stasis", and "five zang organs" have all been proved effective. Depression is characterized by a long course of disease and repeated attack, which coincides with the concept of "deficiency" in TCM. Tonifying deficiency is a method for treating depression based on TCM syndrome differentiation. Under the guidance of this principle, the formulated prescriptions will produce the desired effects. This article reviewed the related clinical and experimental studies on depression treatment via deficiency tonification in recent years, and summarized the corresponding prescriptions for benefiting Qi, replenishing blood, nourishing Yin, and tonifying yang, respectively, so as to enrich the TCM theory of depression and provide new ideas for its clinical treatment.

ABSTRACT

To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Ginkgo Leaf Tablets(GLT) in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction(ACI). Seven databases both at home and abroad were systematically retrieved from their establishment to March 2020. The data of the included studies were extracted after review and screening. The quality of the included studies was assessed with the Cochrane risk bias assessment tool, and then the included studies were put into Meta-analysis by RevMan 5.3 to evaluate the total cli-nical efficiency, neurological function score, blood lipids and incidence of adverse reactions in treatment of ACI by GLT. Finally, the GRADE system was adopted to evaluate the evidence quality of each outcome indicator and form recommendations. Ten studies involving 886 participants were included, all of which were of low quality. Meta-analysis results showed that,(1)in terms of the total clinical efficiency, GLT+Western medicine was superior to Western medicine alone(RR_(NDS)=1.20, 95%CI[1.06, 1.36], P=0.005; RR_(NIHSS)=1.35, 95%CI[1.09, 1.69], P=0.007), and there was no statistical difference between GLT+Xuesaitong Injection+Wes-tern medicine and Xuesaitong Injection+Western medicine(RR=1.16, 95%CI[1.00, 1.35], P=0.05).(2)In terms of improving neurological function score, GLT+Western medicine was superior to Western medicine alone(MD_(NIHSS[moderate(severe)])=-1.55, 95%CI[-2.22,-0.88], P<0.000 01; MD_(NIHSS(severe))=-7.51, 95%CI[-8.00,-7.02], P<0.000 01; MD_(NDS)=-1.36, 95%CI[-2.39,-0.33], P=0.01), and GLT+Danshen Injection+Western medicine was superior to Danshen Injection+Western medicine(MD_(NDS)=-3.09, 95%CI[-3.84,-2.34], P<0.000 01).(3)In terms of regulating blood lipids, GLT+Western medicine was superior to Wes-tern medicine alone(MD_(TC)=-1.40, 95%CI[-2.13,-0.66], P=0.000 2; MD_(TG)=-1.29, 95%CI[-1.86,-0.73], P<0.000 01; MD_(LDL-C)=-1.48, 95%CI[-2.91,-0.04], P=0.04; MD_(HDL-C)=0.07, 95%CI[0.02, 0.12], P=0.009).(4)In terms of incidence of adverse reactions, there was no statistical difference between GLT+Western medicine and Western medicine alone(RR=0.63, 95%CI[0.30, 1.32], P=0.22). The results of the evaluation showed that the evidence level of each outcome indicator was low, and the recommendation was at weak level. In conclusion, GLT+Western medicine could improve the total clinical efficiency, neurological function score, and blood lipid status, with a low incidence of adverse reactions. However, due to the small amount of included stu-dies, low study quality and low level of evidence, it is expected to carry out clinical studies with standardized design and large sample size in the future to further investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of GLT in the treatment of ACI.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To study the morphological characteristics and important anatomical structures of each soft tissue layer of gluteal region, and discuss the recommended levels and safe areas for liposculpture in this region.@*Methods@#Twenty-eight specimens of unilateral buttocks from 14 adult cadavers, including 16 specimens of unilateral buttocks from 8 fresh cadavers and 12 specimens from 6 formaldehyde fixed cadavers were dissected. Among the cadavers, there were 2 males with an average age of 49 years, and 12 females from 23 to 72 years old, median age 46 years. Through anatomy study of soft tissue layers of gluteal region, the morphological features of each layer were observed and documented, and the characteristics of fascia system and adipose tissue, as well as the relationship between the blood vessels and nerves with corresponding layers.@*Results@#The layers of the gluteal region that range from superficial to deep are skin, subcutaneous fat, superficial fascia system, deep fascia system, muscle and fascia compartments. Subcutaneous fat is distributed in superficial and deep layers; the superficial fascia system is well developed and dense with a layered structure; the deep fascia is thin with the characteristic of epimysium. There is a danger zone for deep fat graft in the gluteal region, with its apex at the first sacral vertebra, and its base goes along the gluteal fold, compromising the thighs′ medial two-thirds. Nearly all important blood vessels and nerves of gluteal region are located in deep layer of this danger zone.@*Conclusions@#Based on the characteristics of buttocks of Chinese people, liposuction is mainly performed in the iliolumbar region and posterolateral thigh, which can significantly increase the relative height and fullness of buttocks. For full buttocks, deep fat can be sucked appropriately, which should be longitudinal and gentle to reduce the damage to the superficial fascial system. There is a high risk for fat graft in the buttock. It is recommended to use a blunt needle with an inner diameter of more than 3 mm parallel to the fiber orientation of gluteus maximus for uniform fan-shaped injection with needle withdrawal. Satisfactory result can be obtained by injecting most fat into the subcutaneous adipose layer. Deep injection of grafts into dangerzoneis forbidden.

ABSTRACT

Molecular identification of human externally visible characteristic (EVC), which is also called forensic DNA phenotyping (FDP), can serve as a "molecular witness" when the routine investigations can not determine the identity of a criminal and the DNA database find no match after comparison. FDP could assist in investigation of cases by inferring the externally visible phenotypic characteristics from DNA obtained from the biological materials left at crime scenes, or unknown corpses. In the last few years, studies on the selection of EVC related molecular markers have been reported frequently and some of the EVCs could already be inferred with a certain accuracy, such as hair color and iris color. Further fundamental research on molecular genetics of human external phenotypic characteristics, as well as the continuous innovation on molecular biological technology would promote the rapid development of DNA molecular identification of human phenotypic characteristics.

ABSTRACT

To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Xinling Wan on patients with stable angina pectoris, a randomized, double-blinded, placebo parallel-controlled, multicenter clinical trial was conducted. A total of 232 subjects were enrolled and randomly divided into experiment group and placebo group. The experiment group was treated with Xinling Wan (two pills each time, three times daily) for 4 weeks, and the placebo group was treated with placebo. The effectiveness evaluation showed that Xinling Wan could significantly increase the total duration of treadmill exercise among patients with stable angina pectoris. FAS analysis showed that the difference value of the total exercise duration was between experiment group (72.11±139.32) s and placebo group (31.25±108.32) s. Xinling Wan could remarkably increase the total effective rate of angina pectoris symptom score, and the analysis showed that the total effective rate was 78.95% in experiment group and 42.61% in placebo group. The reduction of nitroglycerin dose was (2.45±2.41) tablets in experiment group and (0.50±2.24) tablets in placebo group on the basis of FAS analysis. The decrease of symptom integral was (4.68±3.49) in experiment group and (3.19±3.31) in placebo group based on FAS analysis. Besides, Xinling Wan could decrease the weekly attack time and the duration of angina pectoris. PPS analysis results were similar to those of FAS analysis. In conclusion, Xinling Wan has an obvious therapeutic effect in treating stable angina pectoris, with a good safety and a low incidence of adverse event and adverse reaction in experiment group.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To investigate the effectiveness of preemptive analgesia with loxoprofen sodium orally, which was a kind of non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs, in extractions of mandibular impacted third teeth.@*METHODS@#There were questionnaires about postoperative pain for patients whose mandibular impacted third teeth were extracted from July 2017 to August 2017 in First Clinical Division of Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology. All the patients did their routine clinical examinations and imaging examinations. After their mandibular impacted third teeth were extracted, the questionnaires were sent to them. The questionnaires were filled in by the patients on their own and returned one week later. There were 120 questionnaires that were sent and 105 questionnaires returned, of which 98 questionnaires were filled in completely. According to the inclusive criteria and exclusion criteria, 66 questionnaires were totally selected in this study. According to the time when the patients took their loxoprofen sodium orally firstly, the patients were divided into 3 groups. The first group was for patients who didn't take loxoprofen sodium during their extractions (non-medicine group). The second group was for patients who took 60 mg loxoprofen sodium 30 min before their extractions (preoperative group). The third group was for patients who took 60 mg loxoprofen sodium 30 min after their extractions (postoperative group). The operation time among the 3 groups was analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis method. The postoperative time points were 2, 4, 12,24 and 48 h after operation. The scores of visual analogue scales (VAS) for postoperative pain in each group at different postoperative time points were analyzed by Friedman method. At each postoperative time point, VAS scores in the different groups were analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis me-thod. The numbers of the patients taking loxoprofen sodium home and drug adverse reactions were also analyzed.@*RESULTS@#The operation time of the 3 groups was 15.0 (5.0,30.0) min and had no significant differences (P=0.848).VAS scores of non-medicine group 2,4, 12,24 and 48 h after operation were 1.75 (0.1,10.0), 6.25 (1.5,10.0), 2.00 (0.1,8.0), 2.00 (0.1,6.0) and 0.5 (0.1,5.5) separately and had significant differences (P<0.001).The VAS score at 4 h after operation was higher than the VAS scores at other time points after operation (P<0.005). Four hours after the operations, the VAS scores of preoperative group [2.0 (0.1,10.0)] and postoperative group [2.0 (0.1,5.0)] were lower significantly than those of non-medicine group [6.25 (1.5,10.0)] (P<0.001).The numbers of the patients taking loxoprofen sodium home were 9(40.9%) in non-medicine group,5(21.8%) in preoperative group and 7(33.3%) in postoperative group. The number of the patients who had drug adverse reactions in preoperative group (n=3,13.0%) and in postoperative group (n=4,19.0%) was less than the number of the patients who had drug adverse reactions in non-medicine group (n=8,36.4%).@*CONCLUSION@#There were two protocols of preemptive analgesia with loxoprofen sodium orally in extractions of mandibular impacted third teeth, which were taking 60 mg loxoprofen sodium orally 30 min before the extractions and taking 60 mg loxoprofen sodium orally 30 min after the extractions. Both of the two preemptive analgesia protocols could decrease the postoperative pain significantly.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To analyze the risk factors of early dental implant failure, treatment and prognosis.@*METHODS@#Cases of dental implants in the first clinical division from January 2000 to December 2016 were selected according to inclusion criteria. The differences of gender, age, smoking, location of implants, healing abutments and bone graft were compared between early failed implants and success implants. The general conditions of early failure patients, the early failure occurrence time, treatment and prognosis were recorded. Statistical methods were χ2 test and descriptive analysis, P<0.05 had statistical significance. Statistical analysis software was IBM SPSS Statistics 19.0.@*RESULTS@#There were 36 patients with 36 early failed implants and 4 381 patients with 6 564 success implants. The rate of early dental implant failure was 0.8% at individual level and 0.5% at implant level. There was no significant difference in gender between the failed implants and success implants (P=0.692). The failure rate of the patients ≥40 years old (1.0%) was higher significantly than that of the patients <40 years old(0.4%, P=0.033). The failure rate of smokers (1.3%) was higher significantly than that of non-smokers(0.3%,P<0.01). There was no significant difference of early failure among four implant locations, which were anterior maxilla, posterior maxilla, anterior mandibular and posterior mandibula (P=0.709). The early failure of implants with bone graft and healing abutments at the same time (1.1%) was significantly higher than that of the implants with bone and healing abutments separately (0.5%, P=0.039). Ten patents with early failed implants had general diseases, including 5 patients with diabetes, 3 with hypertension and 2 with coronary heart disease. All the patients with general diseases were controlled well. The median of early failure occurrence time was 30.5 after implant operations. 83.3% early failure implants was found by dentists at re-examinations. All of the early failure implants were removed when they were found failed. Twenty-six early failure implant sites were inserted with implants again, of which 23 implants were successful.@*CONCLUSION@#The early dental implant failure was possible to occur in one month after implants inserting. The possible risk factors were age≥40 years old, smoking and using bone graft and healing abutments at the same time. Most early dental implant failure was found by dentists at re-examinations. The implants should be removed when the early dental implant failure was found, which didn't influence the later implantation.

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To evaluate the safety and the clinical value of external use of jiuyi Powder (JP) in treating plasma cell mastitis using partial least-squares discriminant analysis (PLSDA).</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Totally 50 patients with plasma cell mastitis treated by external use of JP were observed and biochemical examinations of blood and urine detected before application, at day 4 after application, at day 1 and 14 after discontinuation. Blood mercury and urinary mercury were detected before application, at day 1, 4, and 7 after application, at day 1 and 14 after discontinuation. Urinary mercury was also detected at 28 after discontinuation and 3 months after discontinuation. The information of wound, days of external application and the total dosage of external application were recorded before application, at day 1, 4, and 7 after application, as well as at day 1 after discontinuation. Then a discriminant model covering potential safety factors was set up by PLSDA after screening safety indices with important effects. The applicability of the model was assessed using area under ROC curve. Potential safety factors were assessed using variable importance in the projection (VIP).</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Urinary β2-microglobulin (β2-MG), urinary N-acetyl-β-D-glucosaminidase (NAG), 24 h urinary protein, and urinary α1-microglobulin (α1-MG) were greatly affected by external use of JP in treating plasma cell mastitis. The accuracy rate of PLSDA discriminate model was 74. 00%. The sensitivity, specificity, and the area under ROC curve was 0. 7826, 0. 7037, and 0. 8084, respectively. Three factors with greater effect on the potential safety were screened as follows: pre-application volume of the sore cavity, days of external application, and the total dosage of external application.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>PLSDA method could be used in analyzing bioinformation of clinical Chinese medicine. Urinary β2-MG and urinary NAG were two main safety monitoring indices. Days of external application and the total dosage of external application were main factors influencing blood mercury and urine mercury. A safety classification simulation model of treating plasma cell mastitis by external therapy of JP was established by the two factors, which could be used to assess the safety of external application of JP to some extent.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>In this study, folic acid (FA) was tested for antiteratogenic effects on Tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD)-induced cleft palate in fetal mice.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>In the present study, pregnant mice were dosed with TCDD 24 µg/kg and with or without FA 5 mg/kg body weight on gestation day 10. Control group mice received sesame oil 50 ml/kg body weight on gestation day(GD)10. The mice were sacrificed on GD12.5, GD13.5, GD14.5, GD15.5 and GD16.5. From each pregnant mouse on GD16.5, embryos were obtained to examine under a dissecting microscope, and routine histology was performed for detection and classification of palatal clefts. The fetuses were prepared for histologic examination, scanning electron microscope and TdT-mediated X-dUTP nick and labeling (TUNEL). On GD12.5, GD13.5, GD14.5 and GD15.5. Meanwhile, real-time (RT)-PCR was employed to detect the mRNA expression levels about arylhydrocarbon receptor (AHR) and transforming growth factor (TGF)β3 in this animal model.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>Total frequencies of clefts were 70.2% in TCDD group(group B) and 66.3% in TCDD+FA group(group C) in relation to control fetuses(group A). Filopodia disappeared completely at the medial edge epithelia surface on GD15.5 (group A), GD12.5 (group B) and GD14.5 (group C). the RT-PCR results showed that TGF -β3 expression was down-regulated on GD13.5 and GD14.5 compared to the control.</p><p><b>CONCLUSIONS</b>It is found that folic acid has no protects agaist 2.3.7.8-TCDD-indued cleft palate in the experiment. Meanwhile, TCDD repressed the TGF-β3 expression during the palatal development. Anormal apoptosis was induced by 2, 3, 7, 8-TCDD at the medial edge epithelia (MEE) during the early development stage.</p>

ABSTRACT

<p><b>OBJECTIVE</b>To clarify the impact of increased heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) expression on cardiac function of diabetic rats with myocardial infarction and its mechanism.</p><p><b>METHODS</b>Sixty adult male Wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups (n = 12): sham operation group (sham), diabetes + sham operation group (DM + sham), diabetes + MI group (DM + MI) , diabetes + myocardial infarction + cobalt original porphyrin (CoPP) group (DM + MI + CoPP), diabetes + myocardial infarction + CoPP+ tin porphyrin (SnMP) group (DM + MI + CoPP + SnMP). CoPP 4.5 mg/kg or SnMP 15 mg/kg were administered at the day next to MI operation, for six weeks, once a week. At the 28th week post operation, the echocardiography, left heart via the carotid artery indoor intubation were used to observe the long-term influence of HO-1 inducer (cobalt protoporphyrin, CoPP) and activity of HO inhibitor (tin porphyrin, SnMP) on the indices of left ventricular remodeling and cardiac function after the intervention. Blood glucose (GLU), total cholesterol (TC), C-reactive protein (CRP), serum creatinine (Cr), aminotransferase (ALT) and other indicators were measured. ELISA was used to test interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor (TNF), nitric oxide (NO), prostacyclin (PGI2), adiponectin, and ultra sensitive CRP (HsCRP) level.</p><p><b>RESULTS</b>HO-1 inducer, CoPP, could ameliorate ± dp/dtmax, left ventricular ejection fraction and left ventricular shortening fraction in diabetic myocardial infarction rats. It could also decrease left ventricular end-diastolic diameter. The serum bilirubin, NO and PGI2 levels, myocardial phosphorylated endothelial nitric oxide synthasee(peNOS), phosphorylated activated protein kinase (pAkt), phosphorylated adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (pAMPK) expression were also significantly elevated, and the serum hs-CRP and TNF levels were significantly inhibited. Compared to inducer group, cardiac function were worse in the inhibitor group.</p><p><b>CONCLUSION</b>Upregulated HO-1 level can improve the endothelial function, inhibite of the inflammatory response and enhance the antioxidant substances in serum bilirubin via peNOS-pAMPK pathway, which effectively inhibit ventricular remodeling and improve the long-term cardiac function after infarction in diabetic rats.</p>
